1. The short version
We do not require an email address, password, exchange key, wallet connection, or personal profile for the current product. We do not sell personal information or use your portfolio to target advertising.
2. Data on your device
Your positions, amounts, optional cost basis, Watchlist items, theme, and preferences are stored in your browser on the device you use. This information is not automatically copied to an account or another device. Clearing browser site data can remove it.
3. We do not track your portfolio
btcprice.app does not ask you to connect a wallet, sign a message, or create an account. We do not operate a portfolio database or store your balances, amounts, buy prices, wallet credentials, or private keys. Reset Portfolio removes saved positions, Reset Watchlist removes watched assets, and Reset All Data removes both along with saved preferences from the device you are using.
4. Market-data requests
To show prices, search results, and non-bundled coin logos, btcprice.app makes server-side requests to CoinGecko. CoinGecko receives requests from our hosting layer rather than your browser's IP address. Those requests identify asset IDs, not the amount you hold or your portfolio total. Coinbase live ticks connect directly from your browser when available. If you enable Precious Metals, the app also requests spot-price data from Gold API.
Coinbase, Gold API, and our hosting and security providers can process normal connection information, such as an IP address and browser request details, under their own privacy policies. They do not receive your portfolio amounts, totals, buy prices, wallet credentials, or private keys from btcprice.app.
5. Sharing
Portfolio cards are generated on your device. They remain there unless you choose to download or share them through your device or a third-party platform such as X. Once you share a card, the receiving platform's privacy policy applies.
6. Service operations
Like other hosted websites, our hosting and security providers process limited technical information, such as IP address, browser details, timestamps, and request logs, to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service. We do not use this information to create a portfolio profile or track your holdings.
7. Future optional accounts
If we later add optional sign-in, you will be asked to choose it before creating an account or moving any portfolio information off your device. The no-account experience will remain separate unless you choose to import your local portfolio.
8. Your choices
You can edit or remove positions, manage your Watchlist, reset Portfolio or Watchlist data, reset all locally stored app data, export or restore a local backup, change privacy display mode, and decide whether to share a card.
9. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when the product or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version here and change the date above.
